WBSU, 89.1 THE POINT

Like many radio professionals, Taylor began her radio career at her college radio station. WBSU 89.1 the Point at the SUNY College at Brockport is where Taylor got her radio foundation under Warren Kozireski. In her senior year, Taylor was the circuit director and on-air talent. As circuit director, she was responsible for training 15 station members to become air talent. She taught the basics of on-air skills, how to read and use a log, how to operate a board, She would rate airchecks and offer members feedback and guidance. She also taught members how to write news and sports reports and journalism ethics.

In addition to circuit director, Taylor was air talent for her senior year. She had a live morning show, voice tracked various dayparts, and was chosen to be the live host of the specialty show Club 89, which played party music from 10 p.m. to 12 a.m. on Fridays. She was also chosen out of the entire station to broadcast live from the Rock and Roll Hall of Fame in Cleveland, Ohio.

Prior to circuit director and on-air, Taylor was a member of both the production and news department. As a production member, Taylor would create weekly underwriting spots and PSAs. She also would write, voice/cast voicing, and produce imaging for the station. As a news member, Taylor wrote and broadcasted weekly newscasts and attended local meetings and trials to creat audio packages. Taylor also covered the local election night in person and board oped the coverage twice during her tenure at The Point.
